"The Call Themselves Democrats, But They're Totalitarians"

Archbishop Cerro, the Primate of Spain, accuses the Spanish government of acting totalitarian.
In the picture, Minister of Education Isabel Celaà.

The Archbishop of Toledo and Primate of Spain, Msgr. Francisco Cerro Chaves, accuses the Spanish left-wing government of "totalitarian" action - a statement that makes people sit up and take notice in the midst of the Corona crisis.

The primate criticized the latest educational reform, the so-called Celaà law, named after the Basque socialist Isabel Celaà. Celaà since 2018 Education Minister and spokesperson of the Popular Front government of Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez (PSOE) that from which Socialist Worker's Partty (SOE), the radical left party Podemos, the Communist Party of Spain (PCE) and the left-wing United Left  (IU) is composed.

The educational reform resolved by this parliamentary majority at the end of 2020 provides for the cancellation of funding for private schools and the abolition of religious education. The first measure is to strangle the private schools, which are mainly Catholic-sponsored, and to remove them in favor of a state monopoly. A monopoly that, according to leftist ideas, should in any case be designed without religion and remote from the Church in the educational canon. The second measure is aimed directly against the Catholic Church. Both measures aim to weaken the influence of the Church and ban it from public life in Spain.

It is late, but the resistance to the law is begginning to rise. This includes the scathing criticism by the Spanish primate Archbishop Cerro. He accused the government of "calling themselves democrats and calling for freedom", but in reality acting "totalitarian".

What the government is presenting as a step towards a “modern education system” is in reality neither modern nor new, but rather “very old”, said the Archbishop. All of the pedagogical approaches contained therein come from the day before yesterday and have strong ideological connotations, said Msgr. Cerro. They have been "repeated for decades" by the Spanish left.

Since the early 19th century it has been a "constant" that almost every Spanish government has changed the education law. But not every reform was a win. The current governing parties would “stubbornly” insist on repeating the same mistakes in education “over and over again”, the Archbishop said.

"Ideological interests take precedence over the real purpose of education."

The primate takes particular offense at "many articles and interventions" by the government, which more or less openly deny or attack the right of parents to have their children raised according to their own moral and religious convictions. This is a serious and blatant attack on parental rights.

The primate therefore demanded a right for parents to be able to choose between state and private schools with a denominational background. This does not call for the private schools to be stiffled, but for their equality in order to ensure a real choice. After all, the money for the education budget comes from the taxes of all citizens. An education that does not meet the expectations of the parents cannot claim to fulfill its educational mandate.

Minister Celaà had announced that religion would no longer be a subject of instruction and that the subject where it was still taught would no longer appear in the certificate. The government  has disregarded the society's desire to respect parental rights, the Archbishop said.

"This right is concretized in the right to choose a school and in the right to choose religious instruction."

In conclusion, the archbishop named with reference to Pope Benedict XVI. the fundamental problem on which the current education discussion is based:

“The great basic problem of today's education has its roots in the current anthropological crisis. We live in a deep anthropological crisis that manifests itself in an educational crisis. The deeper and more precise the understanding of people, the better educational measures can be developed. Deviant Marxist Group Publicly Profanes Site of Our Lady of Montserrat

Marian Pilgrimage Site Montserrat: Aberrosexual Provocation,
Blasphemous and Profaning by the Marxist-Feminist extreme Left
of Catalonia
(Madrid) Homosexuality is regarded as a sexual identity disorder and is thus attributed to the area of mental illness. This is confirmed by the penetrating, not infrequently morbid display of one's own sexuality. One of the opportunities to preach public shamelessness in Spain is the "Dia de la Visibilidad lesbica" (Day of Lesbian Visibility), which has been engaged in by aberrosexual organizations since 26 April.
Yesterday, the youth organization Arran, of the Catalan extreme left, spread a video showing two women kissing in front of the image of Our Lady of Montserrat, the Catalan National Shrine. The video, whose title is not quoted, shows a demonstrative, blasphemous attack against Our Lady, the sanctuary, and an insult to the Christian religion. The homo-lobby, which is constantly seen as a "victim", demonstrated its boundless hatred of Christianity.
The profiling of the pilgrimage church "serves the struggle against the lesbophobia of the institutions as well as the church" and "destroys a family type that destroys us", said the radical left in a press release.
A year ago the Homo group Endevant had published a "lesbian kiss" in front of the Mother of God of Montserrat and the Mother of God of the Defenseless, on the same occasion as the photo montage, which is especially venerated in Valencia.
This year, the homo activists went a step further, and invaded the Shrine of Monserrat to abuse it for their blasphemous-clownish political activism. Arran describes itself as Marxist, Socialist, Feminist, Ecological, Anti-Fascist and advocates the secession of the Països Catalans, the Catalan countries (Catalonia, Balearic Islands, Valencia) from Spain.

Cardinal Cañizares: "There is a veritable Holocaust ongoing against Christians" and "The powerful are silent"

Cardinal Cañizares Preaching on Sunday

(Madrid) Cardinal Antonio Cañizares, Archbishop of Valencia and new Deputy President of the Spanish Bishops' Conference issued a "Holocaust" alert for the Christians in the Middle East.
A "Holocaust", according to the Cardinal and former prefect of the Roman Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, is happening under the eyes of those who "direct the destinies of the peoples". These offer "passivity and silence" against the persecution and extinction of Christians in the Middle East.
Cardinal Cañizares raised his voice in his sermon in the Cathedral of Valencia last Sunday for the protection of persecuted Christians. "Thousands and thousands of Christians are being persecuted today and massacred in a regular and new Holocaust," and under the eyes of the powerful in this world who would be silent and idle.
The Cardinal took advantage of the feast of Saint Joseph, the foster father of Jesus Christ, to draw attention to the fate of Christians in the Middle East. He called on Joseph, who protected the Jesus Child and Mary from the persecutors, as advocates for the protection of the "persecuted, homeless, displaced and fleeing Christians, who endure so much enmity in their homeland."

40 Years of Hand Communion in Spain -- "An Unhappy Anniversary in Spain"

Communion on the Tongue: Since the introduction of
hand Communion forty years ago in Spain -- an "unfortunate anniversary"

(Madrid) 40 years ago, Communion in the hand was allowed in Spain on March 18, 1976, the Secretariat of the Spanish Bishops' Conference published in a recent press statement. It was explained that the Holy See, at that time ruled by Pope Paul VI., had upheld a petition by the Episcopal Conference. The Episcopal Conference granted the option, in addition to the ordinary form of receiving  Communion, kneeling on the tongue, to allow Communion in the hand in Spain.

They said:
"The Holy See granted the practice of Communion in the hand in Spain by decree of the Sacred Congregation for the Sacraments and Divine Worship, adopted on 12 February 1976. The permission was at the request of His Eminence Cardinal Vincente Enrique y Tarancon, Archbishop of Madrid and President of the Spanish Episcopal Conference, where, who by a letter of 23 January in accordance with the XXIII Plenary Assembly of the Spanish Bishops' Conference, which reached an agreement in a meeting which took place from December 15th to the 20th  in Los Negrales,  addressed the Sacred Congregation for the Sacraments and Divine Worship.

The  permission was made in accordance with the standards of the letter of the Sacred Congregation of the President of the Episcopal Conferences, the preamble of which states that each bishop may, at his wisdom and his conscience, allow this kind of Communion in his diocese.'
The authorization does not displace the practice of receiving Holy Communion on the tongue, but also leads to the existence of a new type. In future, the faithful going to Communion may decide to receive Communion on the tongue, as in the past, or on the hand."
Furthermore,  the Episcopal Conference stressed that Pope Paul VI. with the instruction Memoriale Domini stipulated about the kinds of Communion of 28 May 1969 that the "centuries-old custom"  of receiving Communion on the tongue is not changed. "At the same time he granted the episcopal conferences the opportunity to consider whether it was appropriate, due to some special circumstances, in addition, to offer Communion in the hand," said the Spanish Episcopal Conference, which made use of this "opportunity" in 1976.
"An unhappy anniversary for Spain," wrote Secreteum meum mihi, referring to the crisis of faith, which was accompanied by the introduction of Communion in the hand. Unlike Pope Paul VI's stipulation,  there was a systematic suppression of receiving Communion while kneeling on the tongue. For decades, the vast majority of all first communicants were forced to receive Communion in the hand. Only rarely is the ordinary form of the Communion reception, Communion on the tongue, ever mentioned. Hand Communion could be abolished at any time, or even prohibited, but not Communion on the tongue. In fact, however, the opposite impression has reigned in recent decades.

Queen Sophia during Communion, 2010 in Barcelona

Sophia Margarita Victoria Friederika of the House of Glücksburg and Hannover, Duchess of Brunswick-Lüneburg, Princess of Greece and Denmark, known by Spaniards as Sophia of Greece for short, since 1975 Queen of Spain - whose title she retained even after the abdication of her husband King Juan Carlos I  -, forced Communion in the hand on 7 November 2010 from Pope Benedict XVI, although this practice was abolished at Papal Masses in 2008.  At Holy Mass in the Church of Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, a kneeler was erected to receive Holy Communion kneeling and on the tongue for the faithful. The Queen was obviously of a different sensitivity than the Pope. The behavior of a queen should not only draw attention in the national media, she should be an exemplary figure as a role model. It's all the more amazing because of the origin of the queen. Before her marriage to the inheritor of the Spanish throne,  her family belonged to the Greek Orthodox Church, who only know  Communion on the tongue.
The number of believers who desire Communion on the tongue has increased again in the past year. It's not desired everywhere. In some places Communion is denied, or the faithful will be snapped at by priests, as so happened even at the Requiem Mass of Bishop Kurt Krenn in February 2014 in the Cathedral of St. Pölten.
Believers who kneel for Communion may disrupt a smooth reception of Communion and waste time, they say. The offering and reception of the Body of Christ on the tongue is considered incidental and  a waste of time, so say critics that not only hold the "meal-theology" in the "spirit of the Council" which led not only served toward the desacralization of Communion, but has added to the harm of belief in real presence.
Inspired by the example of Benedict XVI. a Spanish priest broke the taboo on Communion and refuted the platitude that Communion kneeling   was "obsolete" and interested "no one" any more. He established an equality between the two forms of the reception of Communion in his parish. Here the faithful lined up in two lines, one for Communion in the hand, and for the other line, a communion rail. He explained to the faithful his plan. He ask each to chose according to his sensibility for the corresponding line. Within a short time it was found that more than half of the visitors on Sunday Masses preferred the ordinary posture, kneeling and receiving Communion on the tongue. There was no sign of this half taking this option in previous years. During weekday Masses almost all receive Communion on the tongue.

Archbishop Osoro Will Now Participate in Cardinal Müller's Book Presentation After All

Cardinal Müller may not present his book at the Archdiocesan
University.  But will at least participate at the presentation.
(Madrid) Archbishop Carlos Osoro of Madrid is backpedaling. According to the media reports about his ban against Cardinal Gerhard Müller, the Archbishop of Madrid has once again considered it.  He will now take part in the book presentation, which will take place due to Osoro's ban, now at the University Francisco de Vitoria.
As reported yesterday,  Madrid's Archbishop Carlos Osoro had made an unprecedented affront to Cardinal Gerhard Müller, Prefect of the CDF.
From German Cardinal talking book "appeared recently in Spain Informe sobre la esperanza " (About Hope's Place). The book situates itself on the side of the Church's position, calling a spade a spade. In the course of treatment within the Church discussions, for example, through the sacrament of marriage, divorce and homosexuality, it also contains criticism of Pope Francis' administration. Thus the Cardinal explains  that 500 Years of Reformation is "nothing  for Catholics to celebrate." It's an answer to the common Reformation commemoration that Pope Francis is planning along with the Lutheran World Federation, and will travel on 31 October 2016, to Stockholm.

Osoro accused publisher of asserting a "non-existent" conflict

Next week Cardinal Müller will present his book in several Spanish cities. A German edition, and other translations are in preparation.
The presentation in Madrid was to be held at the Archbishop's University San Dámaso, which is also connected with the seminary of the Archdiocese.
However, Archbishop Osoro  justified his ban of Cardinal Müller on the grounds that his book was "against the Pope."
A week ago things had sounded quite different. At the Spring Plenary Assembly of the Spanish Bishops' Conference of 18-22nd April Osoro criticized the publisher, the prestigious Biblioteca de Autores Cristianos (BAC), on the grounds that the book had asserted a "conflict" between Pope Francis and Cardinal Müller that did not exist in reality.
The "non-existent conflict" must exist since Archbishop Osoro even tried to exercise censorship against the Cardinal Prefect of the CDF.

Osoro, because  of criticism over a "fake resume," will now participate

Osoro, appointed by Pope Francis as Archbishop of Madrid in the fall of 2014, is currently in the spotlight himself. On his appointment, he referred to four Licentiates, which he had acquired during his academic training. According to Infovaticana  his resume had been "faked" and he does not have a single licentiate. Anyway, according to the Spanish news site, they can't find any trace of them in any of the  universities mentioned.
Following the ban by the Archbishop the organizers did not cancel the presentation, but sought for a new venue. The book launch will be taking place at the University Francisco de Vitoria. Also the competent diocesan bishop was also invited, as in all places where Cardinal Müller presents his book. However Osoro declined to participate.
According to recent media reports, however, there was a turnaround. Archbishop Osoro is now to attend the book launch at the University Francisco de Vitoria as Infovaticana announced.

Traditional Procession on Holy Thursday With Spanish Foreign LegionVeterans Happens Despite Mayor's Ban

The traditional procession of Christ of the Good Death becomes an act of religious freedom that attracts hundreds of people this year

A crowd has participated in the procession of Holy Thursday in Hospitalet in Barcelona, which has turned this year into an act of religious freedom, due to the prohibition issued by the mayor Nuria Martin, the PSC.

Members of the brotherhood of Old Knights Legionaries have borne the image of Christ of the Good Death, following the custom to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, accompanied by a band of bugles and drums, in a delegation presided, as in previous years, by the pastor, Father Custodio Ballester.

The mayor had banned the procession because of the presence of legionaries in the procession. Their protests to the Archdiocese and the use of municipal plenary to proclaim that the procession is not welcome in the city have failed to deter many faithful who wanted to participate this year in the entourage of the procession.

The event also had a civic dimension, as an act in favor of religious freedom and expression. A banner of the platform for religious freedom MasLibres.org joined the tour with the "Free to show our faith" slogan.

There is an active HazteOir.org petition that has attracted more than 21,000 signatures to the mayor of Hospitalet, Nuria Martin, and Mayor of Palafolls, Valenti Agusti who has also taken prohibitionist measures acts to stop Holy Week and harass religious freedom. The petition is still active, and can be signed here (puede firmarse aquí).

Custodio Ballester the priest had announced that the procession would be held, despite the municipal ban. In this interview by Actuall, the priest of Hospitalet denounces the Mayor's attempt to silence the popular demonstration of faith.  [esta entrevista]

In Spain There Were 28 Percent More Ordinations in 2015 than 2014

(Madrid) In 2015 there were 28 percent more new priests ordained in Spain than in the previous year.
In 2015 150 new priests were consecrated, while there were only 117 in 2014.These figures were announced the Spanish Episcopal Conference.
Currently, 1,300 seminarians are preparing for the priesthood. In the academic year 2015/2016 there were 270 new entrants to the diocesan seminaries.
In 2014 the number of new priests has fallen by ten percent from 2013, while the number of seminarians increased by 2.7 percent.
Among the Spanish dioceses, the archdiocese of Valencia, Madrid and Toledo stand out with numerous new priests.
"Why Madrid and Barcelona has not?", asks the well-known Spanish columnist Francisco Fernandez de la Cigoña.
"Why does the diocese Terrasa have more seminarians than Barcelona and all other Catalan dioceses together? Why does Ciudad Rodrigo have more seminarians than Salamanca, or Tuy-Vigo over Mondonedo-Ferrol? The reason is to be found not only among the bishops, if they are also to blame. There are not a few pastors who do not care about the promotion of priestly vocations.
Bishops as pastors should be aware: Without vocations and priestly ordinations without dying dioceses. One should take note in the Vatican of whether there are priestly vocations in a diocese or not. It is absurd to promote those that produce no vocations. The Church needs priests. Priestly vocations have to be a priority for a bishop."

Will the Formation of Spanish Government be Signed with an Anti-Catholic Signature?

(Madrid) The designated Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez of the socialist party PSOE and the President of the Liberal Party Ciudadanos, Albert Rivera, have signed a "parliamentary agreement" in the course of forming a government.
In it they explain the agreement in a set of objectives, which is to implement a joint government. These include a "revision" of the Concordat with the Catholic Church and the legalization of euthanasia and  "surrogacy".
"The new legislature in the beginning looks bleak. The key points of the agreement are working in open contradiction to Catholic doctrine and worship of the non-culture of death ", as the Catholic Spanish columnist Francisco Fernandez de la Cigoña said.
The "parliamentary agreement" will enable the formation of a government "of progress and reform", stressed Sanchez and Rivera. Rivera has agreed to  a choice of Sanchez as the next Spanish Prime Minister. The new center-left government will ask for a vote of confidence to the Parliament next week.
PSOE and Ciudadanos come together in the crucial House of Representatives, however, only 130 of 350 seats in the Senate, however, provides no weight for the formation of a government, since the   Christian Democrat-Conservative People's Party (PP) has the absolute majority of seats. It's a majority, which might impose itself against any constitutional amendment.
Without the consent or abstention of the radical leftist Podemos, Sanchez  can not be elected prime minister on March 2. Podemos has 42 MPs. Another 27 MPs are members of Podemos Group, however, they were elected on regional community lists with other leftist regional parties in Catalonia, Valencia and Galicia. Their voting focus and party discipline I have yet to witness.
Parliamentary elections took place in Spain in 2015 on 20 December. They shifted the political landscape to a great extent, so that neither a government nor a left mid-left or center-right or right-wing government is possible. If Sanchez fails, there is likely to be new elections.

Stations of the Cross Removed: "Lack of Respect for Unbelievers and Muslims"

Stations of the Cross Removed: "Lack of respect for
unbelievers and Muslims."
(Madrid) The Socialist Natalia Nuñez was elected last May 24th as the new Mayor of Cenicientos in Spain. The municipality in the Autonomous Community of Madrid has a population of 2,073 inhabitants. One of the first acts of the PSOE representative was the removal of the Stations of the Cross in the small town by the pilgrimage church of Nuestra Señora del Roble, the city's patron.
The Mayor charged  the Way of the Cross with a "lack of respect" towards non-believers and those are who "profess the Muslim religion and culture." Nuñez described the Way of the Cross in interviews dismissively as "those stones".
The destructiveness of the "Alcaldesa" of Cenicientos caused quite a stir in Spain. The more so because the Way of the Cross represented by the stone steles  were only represented by the Roman station number, but without a cross or other religious symbol. Their  placement was financed by the citizens with a support of the Culture Programme of the provincial administration for 3,000 euros. It was at no cost to  Cenicientos. Only three months after its construction, now that the local elections had taken place, they were again removed.

"If Stone Steles Offend a Muslim, Will You Want Tomorrow to Demolish the Churches and Chapels?"

A citizens' committee presented a collection of signatures, which were handed over on July 17 at the City Hall. The committee addressed the mayor the question whether the destruction of the Cross, even presented in this simplicity, shows no "lack of respect towards the Catholics." It calls for the return of the stone steles to their place.
Father Jorge González Guadalix, priest of the Archdiocese of Madrid, referred to the activism of the Mayor as "sectarianism". There is a "will not to respect Catholics and to insult them". InfoCatolica quoted the priest with the question: "How could stone steles without any religious symbol insult a Muslim. He doesn't even know their importance. If naked stones already offend, how much more must then churches and chapels 'insult'? Will they demolish them tomorrow?"
According to Father Guadalix this day is not far off for those who think this way: "The truth is that you want to make an end to   Catholics and with everything that reminds us of the Church. This is an old aim under which Spain has already suffered greatly. The 'fruits of this tolerance' we know all too well," the priest said, alluding to the anti-Catholic persecution in the 1930s.

European Museum Association "L'Internationale" Holds Anti-Clerical Exhibition -- Currently in Madrid

(Madrid) A network of European museums of contemporary art is a misanthropic, blasphemous and anti-clerical exhibition. The exhibition can currently be seen under the name  "Un saber real instruments útil"  the Queen Sofia Museum in Madrid. The exhibition promotes abortion, insults Christianity and is hostile to the Catholic Church. "It would be reprehensible if a religious denomination would get money from the government to insult feminists", said Infovaticana. Equally reprehensible is the inverse conclusion that feminists get money from the Spanish government and the European Union (EU) to insult the Catholic Church.
The "valuable" pieces, currently shown in the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia  include matchboxes illustrated with a call for violence: "The only church that illuminates is  burning. Support help! "
The Queen Sofia Museum, named after the former Spanish Queen Sofia, the wife of  King Juan Carlos I, who abdicated on June 19th, is holding an exhibition, which is funded by taxpayers' money, blasphemes the God, insults the Catholic Church, degrades human dignity, calls for anti-Christian violence and the murder of unborn children. Miguel Vidal started a petition on HazteOir, which prompts the museum director , Manuel Borja-Villel to close the exhibition.
The Museum of Modern Art was founded in 1990. The headquarters is located in San Carlos Hospital in Madrid, which had been founded in the 16th century by King Philip II.

EU-Sponsored Church Hostility "in the Name of Art"

Was compiled by the exhibition  Croatian Curator Collective WHW What, How & Whom that holds exhibitions in the German-speaking world, especially in Austria. The Madrid exhibition was funded by the EU Culture Programme. The alleged "educational" approach of the exhibition recalls not coincidentally of the National Socialist "education programs". Nor that the Collective WHW put together an exhibition for a new European museum network called L'International (The International).
The  International Museums-  with its naming inspired by communistic nostalgia include the following six museums of modern art at: Moderna Galerija (MG + MSUM, Ljubljana, Slovenia); Museo nacional centro de arte Reina Sofía (MNCARS, Madrid, Spain); Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA, Catalonia, Spain); Museum of Modern Art, Antwerp (M HKA, Antwerp, Belgium); SALT (Istanbul and Ankara, Turkey) and Van Abbemuseum (VAM, Eindhoven, The Netherlands).
The exhibition is expected to be seen in all these museums soon. The Exhibition in Madrid is imbued with hostility toward Christians. An exhibition piece which criticized Islam,  would not only have been unsuitable for left and left-liberal Western states, but also for the Islamic Turkey.

Sacrilegious "Our Father" of Argentine Feminists

The exhibits feature a total of 30 artists and artist collectives. Among these there is also the Argentine feminist collective Mujeres publicas (Public Women). The "art" of Public Women is meant to attack the Catholic Church and to offend Christians and Christianity.
The Spanish left would not put up with having to pay taxes and can then offend people in an exhibition with their own money. The exhibition Un saber real instruments útil (Really useful knowledge) promotes the feminist "Our Father" the Mujeres publicas, which states:
"Give us the right to decide about our bodies. And grant us the grace to neither be virgins nor mothers. Free us from the authority of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, so we are the ones who decide for us. Pray that justice does not follow the order of the Church and be free from  misogynist oppression. We come to the right to deny that the fruit of our body is blessed. Lead us not into temptation, not to fight for our rights. And grant us the miracle of legalization of abortion in Argentina. Amen ".
From "Mujeres publicas comes the feminist battle cry:
"The Pope is Argentinian and abortion is prohibited. If the Pope were a woman, abortion would be law. "
The petition against the blasphemous and anti-clerical exhibition with a request that the exhibition is addressed to the museum director and at the same time to the Spanish Government.
